Human rights situation of Cuban health personnel on internationalization missions

The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) and its Special Rapporteurship on Economic, Social, Cultural and Environmental Rights (REDESCA) is preparing a thematic report on the human rights of Cuban health workers who participate and work in medical internationalization missions deployed in the Americas. 

The objective of this report is to compile and analyze information on the situation faced by these workers and to provide guidelines, both to the Cuban State and to the receiving States, that allow the effective protection of their human rights.

In order to have more input for the preparation of this report, the public consultation process has begun, inviting civil society organizations, international organizations, national human rights institutions, academia and specialists to respond to the form consisting of the following sections: 1) current human rights situation in Cuba, 2) labor and trade union rights of health personnel participating in internationalization medical missions, and 3) international protection of Cuban persons participating in medical missions.

Deadline to respond: 27 December 2024 until 23:59 EST

Format: Responses should be submitted by completing the electronic form, which may be answered partially or completely, depending on the information available. The information should respond to each of the questions asked, in a concrete and specific manner, with verifiable sources and up to date. Please identify and clearly reference when attachments to the main document are submitted.
