Each year the OAS Secretary General publishes a proposed Program-Budget for the coming calendar year. The OAS General Assembly meets in a Special Session to approve the Program-Budget. Find these documents from 1998-2013 here.
Each year in April, the OAS Board of External Auditors publishes a report covering the previous calendar year’s financial results. Reports covering 1996-2016 may be found here.

New Permanent Representative of Argentina to the OAS Presents Credentials

The new Permanent Representative of Argentina to the Organization of American States (OAS), Carlos Bernardo Cherniak, today presented his credentials to OAS Secretary General Luis Almagro in a ceremony held at the Organization's headquarters in Washington, DC.
In his speech, Ambassador Cherniak noted that Argentina shares the values of the OAS. “Religious freedom, plurality of values, commitment to democracy, human rights. Argentina has built its democratic process—which will turn 42 this year, the longest in its history—around human rights. Therefore, Argentina’s commitment to human rights is evident to all,” he said.
For his part, Secretary General Luis Almagro recalled that Ambassador Cherniak begins his mandate during the final stretch of preparations for the OAS General Assembly, which will take place at the end of June in Antigua and Barbuda. “You are joining the Organization at a significant moment, one that will allow you to contribute your expertise and your country’s input to its success,” he said. “You have the training and professional experience that make you ideally suited to contribute to the work and discussions of this Organization,” added the Secretary General, who also expressed his determination “to maximize every opportunity we have during this period to advance democracy, access to rights for the people of the Americas, security, and development.”
Ambassador Cherniak is a lawyer, professor of international relations theory, and career diplomat. He has served as Argentina’s representative to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and held various positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of his country.
