The Organization of American States (OAS) and the ILAN Israel Innovation Network Foundation today signed a framework cooperation agreement to promote innovation as a driver of development in the countries of the Hemisphere, during a ceremony that took place at the OAS headquarters in Washington, D.C.
ILAN President Isaac Assa Farca said the signing of the document "will be key to expanding our network and enhancing cooperation among countries, creating new opportunities for growth, collaboration, and knowledge transfer," and added that the agreement "will be a catalyst for the change the region needs, promoting an innovation model that will not only allow us to address current challenges, but also anticipate future needs."
For his part, the OAS Secretary General Luis Almagro said, "This agreement commits us, as the most important multilateral organization in the Hemisphere, and you, as a leading foundation in this field, to join efforts in pursuit of the common goal of improving the well-being of our citizens." He added, "Innovation is the path to wealth creation, and without the capacity to create wealth, it is impossible to expand rights for more people."
The main function of the ILAN Foundation is to promote innovation as a tool to improve people's quality of life, focusing on sectors such as health, environment, education, technology, communication, social transformation, and peace.
