Human Trafficking is a violation of human rights and an expanding criminal activity in the Western Hemisphere. Human Trafficking generally implies the exploitation of victims in forced labour, often in manual or sexual activities.
General Objective:
Increase awareness and support migration and law enforcement agencies, judges and prosecutors in the Central American Region in the fight against trafficking in persons.
General Outcomes:
This Project is part of the Inter-American Program for the Promotion and Protection of the Human Rights of Migrants and their Families, administered within the framework of the Migration and Development Program. This project is funded by the Canadian International Development Agency and is executed by the Department of Public Security in the Executive Secretariat for Multidimensional Security.
