Module 4: Be productive

module 4

In this module, we reflect on the role of educational institutions in preparing young people for the world of work and promoting essential skills and competencies that support their transition to adult life.
Schools play a critical role in this process by providing frameworks and tools that help students overcome challenges in the labor market.

Article 11 of the Inter-American Democratic Charter (OAS, 2001) states:

"Democracy and social and economic development are interdependent and are mutually reinforcing."

To address this topic, we now propose the following activities:
  • 1. Read the document for Module 4: Be productive and review its infographic.
    • 2. Reflect on your experiences. Consider the following questions:
      • What basic competencies does your institution promote to help young people enter the workforce?
      • What strategies are implemented for this purpose?
      • What challenges remain in this area?
    • 3. Revisit the guidelines for the integration activity and post your proposal in the Wall 5: Promoting participation in educational settings. Keep in mind the evaluation criteria:
      • Topic/problem clearly identified and contextualized.
      • Rationale explains importance and relevance.
      • General objective and at least 3 specific objectives included.
      • Recipients and actors involved are defined.
