Module 3: Know Your Rights and Respect the Rights of Others

module 3

This module examines the school as a space for learning, exercising, and respecting human rights, and for preparing young people to understand their freedoms and responsibilities in a democratic society.
Educating in human rights means not only sharing knowledge but also creating daily experiences of respect, tolerance, and meaningful participation.

Article 7 of the Inter-American Democratic Charter (OAS, 2001) states:

"Democracy is indispensable for the effective exercise of fundamental freedoms and human rights in their universality, indivisibility and interdependence, embodied in the respective constitutions of states and in inter-American and international human rights instruments."

To address this topic, we propose the following activities:
  • 1. Read the document for Module 3: Know your rights and respect the rights of others and review its infographic.
    • 2. Complete the questionnaire 1 which covers modules 1, 2 and 3.
    • 3. Revisit the guidelines for the integration activity and start working on your project proposal. This activity will be submitted in week 4.
